Provo's Fall Colors

We had to get out and enjoy these beautiful Fall colors before they disappear foreverwell, until next year. Luckily, Jordan and Fan invited us for a little outing in Rock Canyon.

unattractive-leaf-throwing pic proves how much i love fall.

You'll notice that the pictures begin with us as a group, and then end with mostly... well, me (Jacob was keeper of the camera). This was about a month ago, when very few knew our secret about Baby Robinson. We were all planning on hiking up to an old mine in the canyon, but let's just say this hike was a little more long and strenuous than we were expecting (and not the safest trail either)especially for the secretly-12-weeks-pregnant girl.

I found myself huffing and puffing, trailing behind the others. I kept making the excuse that I was a little "woozy," which I was. Finally, Jordan turned around and asked me point-blank, "Holli, are you pregnant???"

Well, we couldn't LIE to them! They were excited to hear the news. Still, Jacob and I decided that we should probably turn back. Guess it's time to start recognizing my limits. I'm a freakin sacred vessel!

Regardless of my inability to make it to the mine, it was a lovely time playing out in Provo's Fall beauty. And though I wasn't prepared to be discovered so candidly, it felt really good letting a few more friends in on our lil' secret. And now that EVERYONE knows. Well, it's pretty awesome.

neighborhood BBQ

6.9.12
We had a little neighborhood bbq for the families we home/visit teach.

Jacob manned the grill and cooked up some delish dogs and burgers.

These little girls had a fun time playing on the trampoline with "Brother Robinson."
They were constantly yelling at him to jump HIGHER!

These photos just warm my heart.
I love our neighborhood, our ward,
and the families that have become our friends.

Conference Weekend Getaway

Jacob and I got tickets for the Saturday and Sunday morning sessions of General Conference, and decided to escape Provo and make a weekend of it.

This included:

+ a picnic by the SLC library
+ a little canyon drive, listening to afternoon session on the radio
+ tasty lunch at Ruth's Diner
+finding that the car battery was dead, getting some lady rugby players help push Jacob's Exterra in order to start the manual transmission
+ Perusing around Gateway Mall, (which included my much anticipated trip to Anthropologie) while Jacob went to Priesthood session
+ McDonald's for 7-month sundaes
At the end of this tremendous day, we both realized that it was the day of us being together for 7 months. We were surprised that we both forgot (we usually do little things to celebrate each month landmark), but we decided to find a place to get ice cream and quickly ran in to a McDonald's, which lead to this. . .

We are dorks. That's all there is to it.

We spent the night at the home of some of Jacob's relatives, and we woke up to this!!
So much snow! Not a typical April Conference day, but it was still lovely and conference was great.

This was our scenery on the way back to Provo. We got out of the car to capture this lovely sunset.
It was a dreamy weekend getaway.

Elixir of Life

So I'm not the only person addicted to Cholula sauce. I got my roommate, Amy, hooked on it too. In fact, she finished off my last bottle. ROOMMATE FOUL!! Just playin. I'm sure she didn't use half as much as I did. Still, she completely redeemed herself by bringing this miracle home from the store. Not only did she get the much coveted jumbo 12 oz. bottle, but she wrote this message on the label:

If you can't read cute girl handwriting, it says "Amy and Holli, Elixir of Life."

Bless you, Amy.
Bless you.

with my heart hanging out

Inside and Out  Feist

I'm the girl who loves you inside and out,
backwards and forwards with my heart hanging out

The chorus of this song is dedicated to my guy on Valentine's.

This picture makes my heart all fluttery inside.

Zions Nat'l

This the bush that smells like rain. Everyone was REALLY impressed with my knowledge of desert plant life.

This was my first time down to St. George and the parks in Southern Utah. I have have sensationalized these places in my mind for a long time now, and I was not disappointed. I knew Southern Utah would be way better than Provo. I especially loved the striking appearance of snow on the red rocks.
It was like snow on Mars.

"In Vegas, you can call me babe."

Young Blood  The Naked and Famous

Atop the Stratosphere. We rode ALL the rides: Insanity, XScream, and Bigtop.
We screamed our butts off.
 Mikey's first Vegas.
 SURPRISE!!!
 Vegas thought of it first.
I was hoping for Claire de Lune, but I got God Bless the USA.
Can't complain.

Other Vegas highlights: Searching for a "vegas" buffet, finding that they are all expensive, and happily settling for Chipotle (can't get it in Provo, afterall). Bullying Jacob into finishing his huge burrito. Averting our eyes and laughing at everything. Every poster of "DIVAS." The Treasure Island pirate show that was more like a Pussycat Dolls Show. Being square Mormon kids, and being totally okay with it. Being so tuckered out that we had to take a cab back to our car. Showing up in one of the craziest places ever invented with no plans. . . just wide eyes and adventurous hearts.
