23

Today is my Michael Jordan Birthday. . .

WHAM!
BAM!
SLAM!
JAM!

23

That's me.

I really wish I had an old Bulls jersey and some Air Jordans to sport. Space Jam would be nice too.

Also, I'm obsessed with this video today:

Thanks to all those who brightened my day with birthday wishes.
I love all of you.

Sparks

Home (RAC Mix) Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

The dream couple, Alison and Weston finally got married this weekend, and it was only fitting for such a couple to have a dreamy reception. The elegance, friends, food, music, dancing. . . it was magical.

I'm gonna miss my ol' bunkmate

bridesmaids

wedding date

The Archer's Apple (including Weston) played a delightful set,
and provided some dancing music for the party.

The sparkler send-off party

It was a lovely lovely evening.
Congrats to the happy couple!

Night at the Symphony

We kicked off the Christmas season with a delightful night at the BYU Symphony. I especially loved "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" and Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite.

The sugar plums are already dancing in my head. . .

Christmas is coming!

And yes, he is wearing a wolf shirt under that blazer.
What of it?

Hey Rudolph!

This is the best "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" I ever heard.

Little Saint Nick

This gem was waiting for me on the doorstep when I finally got home after Thanksgiving break. . .

Thank you eBay.

After having my flight delayed three times and driving back to Provo in the rudest of weather, the boy and I could just plop on the lovesac, eat our Beto's, and listen to the Beach Boys wish us a merry Christmas in the middle of the night.

The record player has never been jollier.

We Remember Thanksgiving

How to make Thanksgiving T-shirts for Dummies. . .

 Paint.
Turkey-related colors.

 One turkey-shaped hand.

 A slogan.

And your own personal flair. . .
(his turkey has a gold glittery pilgrim hat)

A cool cat to wear your T-shirt with.

We Remember Thanksgiving.

Music and the Spoken Word

"Wait. They do this every Sunday for free, and I've never been to it???"

They sing pretty songs, they say pretty things. . .
It's Music and the Spoken Word!

Portait of an Artist as a Young Ghost-Bear

I think if some naturalist painter had done ghost-bear's portrait, it would turn out something like this.

Now if only James Joyce had written a depressing, coming-of-age novel, sketching ghost-bear's life and internal struggles as a developing artist.

Eat my shorts, Stephen Dedalus!

Sorry everyone.
I'm still a little obsessed with my Ghost-bear costume.
Please humor me.

October Recap

This is why I love October. . .

What better way to begin your October than with General Conference??

In October I love all things pumpkin,
including carving Captain Star-face and Chewbacca.

We forgot to turn off the flash. . .

That's better!

  Scary stuff!

Costume dance parties
Jacob as a really unconvincing sheet-ghost and me as a care bear.

 Saw this lady live.
My HERO.

Picnics at the Provo Farmer's Market.

 Halloweeness.
 Ninja + Ghost Bear.

October has it all.
I'm already counting the months until 10-2011.

Timpanogos Caves

My childhood obsession with Twain's The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and watching Planet Earth has cultivated the desire in me to be a cave explorer. This is what I was meant to do in life, obviously.

Timp Caves made my dream happen.

Yellowstoned. . . AGAIN!

Chinese Translation  M. Ward

After Bear World, my comrades and I continued our adventures in grand ol' Yellowstone...

. . .but first we picked up some more friends.
Heart Telescopes.

Our kicks could make a yin yang.
Me and grandpa sweater.
 Mooses & Co.

Geysers, geysers, geysers. . . I think I've said it all.
 We look good.
Jacob's first Old Faithful experience, captured.

An American Buffalo, up-close and personal.
Da gang.

We got pump. We got pizazz. We got Yellowstoned.
