HAPPY BIRTHDAY AZ!!!!

Today me and the roomies celebrated Arizona's 96th birthday. Me, Megan, and Amy are all from the AZ, so it was pretty fun. Today I listened to all AZ bands, wore my AZ tee, my cactus necklace, my flag bandana, and made an AZ flag birthday cake! check it:

okay, this is one of my scripture "God loves you" valentines. ha ha.

I should also mention that it is my brother TJ's birthday too. Here's the handsome man:

So I hope that everybody had an excellent valentine's day. Mine was pretty excellent. I was randomly in the bookstore for no reason, and the author Orson Scott Card just happened to be in there signing books, so I waited in line and had him sign one! What a pleasant surprise! I thought he was cool. He was just really chilled out wearing these teva sandals as if it weren't snowing like h@#% outside. He also wrote this really cool thing in my book that I can't understand. Those dang writers. Always have to be so sophisticated.
Anyway,  I gave a bunch of people bible and power ranger valentines, and I gave out this one awesome original valentine that I drew. Basically, it said "be my valentine." and it had this heart-shaped Wi-fi symbol. On this inside it said, "Wi-not? I picked up your signal, and I feel a connection." Pretty geeky. ha ha. I also got to help Megan's boyfriend make all their v-day plans. It was so fun. I helped him make this HUGE card with a million neon cut-out hearts all over it and glitter and the whole circus! He definitely needed my help. Boys don't know how to cut out hearts! ha ha. Well, happy V-day everybody!

I love you Arizona!!!

Pyramus and Thisbe

So the other night i went and saw BYU's production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. That had a very interesting take on the play, much different than any other production i have seen. They incorporated a sort of Brazilian carnival theme, with lots of bright colors and costuming, and fun up-beat music and modern tribal-inspired dancing. There was also a a fight sequence at the very beginning using that Brazilian martial arts, capoeira. It was a sight to behold. Very creative.

Much of the play was also very standard, when it came down to the presentation of the characters and their lines. The best was the play within a play at the very end when the players perform "the tragedy of pyramus and thisbe." My favorite was the guy who played "the wall." He was dancing the whole time. yay! It was so weird!

Okay, but here is my favorite rendition of the pyramus and thisbe skit performed by the beatles on some television show. I think this little clip is a gem. And it sort of brings my love of music and literature together in a humorous and nostalgic way. Take a looksie:

The Real Sooopa Tuesday

When I needed to get my mind off the frustration of CNN's politics on this reckless Super Tuesday, I found the real reason that made today soooopa:

These guys released a new album.....

Nada Surf is prolly one of my favorite bands, and I am so stoked over their new album "Lucky." It's my high-energy, quirky, feel-good rock. It just makes me really happy. I stamp this album again and again with the utmost approval. check it.

They are also goin on tour soon, but it doesn't look like they are coming to Utah. bummer. Oh well. But here's me expressing my excitement on my photobooth...

beautiful beat.

Professional sledders

So on friday night, I went sledding for my very first time. I thought it would be a good opportunity for some positive interaction with the snow. Turns out, I was right. The snow and I got to know each other a little better, and we are working on improving our relationship.

haha...  jk.

It was a lot of fun though. It was also pretty intense. We went down some pretty steep hills. On one run, I hit a big bump and I was ejected from the sled, bit my tongue, landed on my back and did two backward somersaults. intense.

I was also a dork, because I wore the worst shoes ever. They had absolutely no grip on the bottom of the sole. I was slipping all over the place. I couldn't even walk back up the hill by my myself! It was ridiculous.

Child's play.
Me and Amy.

I was covered in snow after my crash landing.
I am struggling to climb the slippery slope.

This is not a cute picture, but I thought it was amazing. I made my burrito stand up by itself.

Happy Birthday Baby Brother!

Holla to my lil' brudder Skyler on his birthday. He is  15 years old!!! Yikes! Anyway, he is a pretty tight kid who ROCKS at life, literally.

Don't take my word though.

See for yourself...

Here's Sky as "Slash" from Guns n' Roses for Halloween.

Elder Shrednar.

cute.

Poses Tyra Banks could be proud of.

This is when he started to get taller than me. So annoying.
Not a bad drummer, either.
Riffs no one can claim.
WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE!!!!!
Am I right, or am I right?

This kid knows how to jam.

Skyler is freakin' talented, and a pretty cool lil' brother who is getting not so little anymore.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
